Today is Sunday, Aug. 5th, 2012, and I am truly blessed by God.
Anthony and I got married 15 days ago, and they have been a perfect, eye-opening, frustrating, sad, wonderful, fun and trying times so far. Marriage has been wonderful; I love being married; I love my husband; I would not trade being married for anything. Moving into an apartment has been trying and frustrating. God has blessed me and challenged me all at the same time.
I have not stepped up to his challenge. He's sending me into a trying time and place, where he expects me to lean solely on him; I haven't. I need more God in my life. I need more prayer, more quiet time and more guidance from God every day. I'm working on it. Prayers are appreciated.
We got married on Saturday, July 21st, 2012. It was a perfect day. The church had been decorated so beautifully, by people who love me, my husband and my family. The morning was stress-free and fun. The ceremony was beautiful and filled with love. The refreshments were so tasty and I enjoyed seeing everyone mingling. Pictures were fun and goofy, just the way I wanted. The reception was rushed, but more fun than I could have asked for. Thank you all for celebrating the best day of my life. After the wedding, Anthony and I went away to our hotel and had dinner at Benihana's.
Sunday we drove to London, Kentucky and stayed in a hotel. Thank you to our friends who decorated our car with balloons, ribbons, coke cans and window writing. We got many honks during our trip.
Monday we drove the rest of the way to Pigeon Forge, where we checked into our cabin. Monday night we lounged around in our cabin and went grocery shop.
Tuesday was a great day of touristy activities and lounging in our gorgeous cabin. We walked around Gatlinburg and visited the Guinness Book of World Records museum. We at at the Dixie Stampede dinner show.
Wednesday we walked around Gatlinburg again, and bought our souvenirs. We grilled steaks, potatoes and asparagus for dinner.
Thursday we walked around Pigeon Forge and window shopped. We at at Mama's Farmhouse, which was all you can eat, Southern style, family style dining. So tasty.
Friday we checked out of our cabin and drove to Lebenon, Indiana. Saturday we drove the rest of the way home from our honeymoon.
It was a perfect honeymoon. I could not have imagined anything so perfect. We had a cabin in the mountains with a beautiful view, away from everyone else, but still close enough to civilization. We could do the touristy stuff during the day and the romantic stuff at night. Thank you Lord for a perfect week.
Once we were home it was the mad dash to get us moved into our new apartment. My amazing family helped Anthony and I move into our Kenosha apartment Sunday evening. While moving in, we learned how disgusting our apartment really was. (we wish we had looked harder when walking through our apartment the first viewing)
Monday was spent cleaning the kitchen. It took all 4 hands on deck to get the kitchen clean enough to put our new appliances and kitchen gadgets in.
Tuesday was spent cleaning the bathroom, bedroom and living room. We were mostly settled Tuesday night.
Wednesday was spent buying a king size bed and redecorating our bedroom.
Thursday was spent glasses frames shopping (because my frames had snapped in half Wednesday night) and waiting for an ATT package to arrive. Thursday afternoon we drove back to Illinois to spend the weekend with our friends and family.
Thank you for a fantastic weekend friends and family. More to come soon! :)
